You go by taxi to Karlsøy, a coastal area in Troms county with over 600 islands!
In Hansnes you go onboard the M/S Ragnvaldson that takes you to the birdsanctuary Fugløy. Here you will find Europe's largest collection of Sea-Eagles,
and large colonies of Puffins and Great Auks.
The voyage continues to the island of Karlsøy, an old trading-port which has given it's name to the area.
The island is one of the oldest church-places in the north. It has hardly any cars and the nature is filled with contrasts ranching from sheer rock-faces to
soft sand-dunes.
Back onboard the boat you are served fishsoup with bread and a taxi will finally bring you back to the city.

In Hansnes you will be picked up by a taxi that brings you to Grønliskaret Sportell..
Here you are welcomed by drinks inside a lavvu (sami type tepee). A three course dinner is followed inside the Sportell and the
night is rounded off with coffee-surprise at Jægerhula pub, with song and dance till late at night.
The group returns to Hansnes and is brought back to Tromsø by boat.

M/S Polstjerna
is a vessel built in 1948 for the purpose of hunting in the Arctic Ocean.
M/S Polstjerna is 95 foot long and 22,5 foot wide and was built at K. Christiansen & Co. Moens shipbuilders in Risør.
The Ship is made of wood and reinforced for icy conditions. She has sailed through 33 hunting-seasons and has carried
approximately 100.000 seals on the west- and East-ice. The vessel returned from all trips in perfect condition. The summer of 1998
M/S Polstjerna carried tourists which she probably will in 1999 as well, and there might be a possibility to go fishing to the Lofoten's early in the year.

Ferries
Ferryrides to Sandøy
Buss or taxi to Bellvik on Kvaløya. Here we are entering the boat M/G Kjølva.
She will take us for a roundtrip on the outside of Kvaløya where nature still is pure and untouched.
The ferry stops at a few small island on the way (Musvær and Risøya) and the last stop is Mjølvik on Sandøya.
Facing the ocean on 70*north, it is beautiful with it's white, sandy beaches and no car in sight. In an old fishing-station
it is now possible to rent a room in a fisherman's shanty. In the right season we catch the sunset on the way back to Tromsø

PROFESSIONAL SPORTS-FISHING
Vannøya is an island right out in the mouth of the ocean. Here you will find Norway's second best small-salmon river - over 10 kilometres long.
It is also good possibilities for sea-fishing. Cod, haddock, halibut ,wolf-fish, and flounder at over 30 kilos have been cought here in Hemmerfjord.

FAMILY SPORTS-FISHING
What about a fishing-competition for your group or family?
On Hella, 27 kilometres south of Tromsø, you will find the maelstrom "Rystraumen".
Here the Cod and Haddock are plentiful and the fishing is free! We will fish from the white cliffs whilst enjoying the beautiful nature in the area.
Lunch or dinner can be had in "Bryggeloftet" or "Hellastua". Overnight-facilities in old wooden Tromsø-houses moved to he area for preservation.

VISIT TO A FISH-FARM
Fishing is the traditional way of life in Northern- Norway. The last few decades has seen a shift from the more traditional ways of fishing to fish-farms.
On this tour we will visit a fish-farm in Kaldfjord (south of Tromsø) Here we can have a closer look at the farming of salmon and trout. An expert will give
a guided tour around the farm and everyone is given a bit to taste.
